The romance of mentorship
He looked at me and said ‘it is alright. We will work this out’
He was right. We did.
He sat by me and said ‘you got this figured out’
He was right. I did.
He pulled me up and said ‘one day they will disappear’
He was right. They did.
A fine summer day, I looked for him
He was busy working things out,
Though not for me
One day, I was sitting by him
But he was busy figuring it out
Though not for me
Another cloudy day, I needed a pull
He was busy making things disappear
Though not for me
He knows not what it means.
He knows not how much it means.
He and his world in my life.
I do it because I care.
I do it because I love.
I do it for him, the him who has many others like me.
